December 2024 Congratulations to Matheus for presenting his PhD research on Electrically Conductive Nano-Reinforced Epoxy/Poly(Ether Imide) Semi-Interpenetrating Polymer Networks for Aerospace Applications. His detailed presentation impressed the committee, and he successfully passed all their questions. Well done, Matheus! November 2024 Roland was invited speaker at the 30th Users’ Meeting & Workshop of the National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center and XIX International Small Angle Scattering Conference, SAS2024, in Taiwan. The next SAS will be held in 2027 in Lund Sweden! October 2024 Valentina attended Material for Tomorrow 2024 conference that was this year dedicated to Artificial intelligence in Materials Science. She presented three posters. October 2024 Viney, Ases and Roland (online) recently visited Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), India to attend a workshop on battery technology for EVs and smart grid as part of an ongoing project funded by STINT, the Swedish foundation for international cooperation in research and higher education. The workshop showcased experts from academia and industry who provided critical insights on the EV ecosystem in India and in Sweden. September 2024 Our team, including Marko, Sajjad, Valentina, Viney, and Roland, participated in the first FibRe International Conference in Gothenburg from September 10-12, 2024. We presented both posters and oral presentations, showcasing our latest research. A special congratulations to Valentina and Viney for winning 2nd and 3rd place in the Best Poster Award! August 2024 This summer offered the perfect weather for our annual cycling trip! Our large peloton cruised along the beautiful southern coast of Gothenburg, enjoying the stunning views and fresh air. Some of us even took a refreshing dip in the pleasantly warm sea. It was a fantastic day of activity and relaxation by the coast! July 2024 Roland and Marko represented our team at the 13th Mechanics of Time Dependent Materials (MTDM) conference, held in Tokyo, Japan, from July 8th to 11th, 2024. Roland delivered a plenary lecture on Advances in Rheology Coupled with Synchrotron X-ray Scattering Experiments, while Marko presented our latest research on Rheology Coupled with X-rays and Moisture. Exciting news! The next MTDM conference will take place in Sweden in 2026. Stay tuned for more updates! June 2024 Big congratulations to Kesavan for his 1st place poster titiled Vortical Strings at the WWSC Summer Workshop 2024. June 2024 Marko was invited to give a lecture at the 19th Rheological Seminar in Portorož, Slovenia. May 2024 Our group attended the Nordic Rheological Conference in Stavanger, Norway. We had a strong presence at the event, delivering seven presentations and showcasing one poster. May 2024 This year, our group set out on our traditional winter hike a bit later than usual. As a result, we enjoyed sunny, warm weather, and the vibrant greenery was in full display. May 2024 Congratulations to our Master’s student, Vihangi, for her excellent presentation and engaging discussion. April 2024 Roland attending a conference Fluctuations in Soft Matter: Theory Meets Experiment at Large-Scale Research Infrastructures in Stockholm, Sweden. He presented our latest finding related to the orientation across length scales in simple shear. April 2024 Kesavan in action at the Annual European Rheology Conference 2024 in Leeds, UK presenting some of the results from our fresh paper on Taylor vortices with cellulose nanocrystals. Throwback to February 2024 An off-duty evening of fun, teamwork and solving real-life engineering challenges! All ready for discussing data, courses, meetings and lab teaching! March 2024 Another educational activity in our lab, this time a hands-on short rheology workshop within the FibRe Vinnova Competence Centre. March 2024 A online PhD course on Introduction to rheology was held in our lab. Participants explored the intricate world of rheology, delving into the behavior of materials in flow and deformation. March 2024 Our team had the pleasure of being hosted by R&D Crop Protection team (Agriculture and Food) at Nouryon in Stenungsund, Sweden. This visit was a fantastic opportunity to discuss a wide range of topics and explore potential collaboration opportunities with a leading global specialty chemicals supplier.
